St. Mary's, Church is at the heart of the town of Hailsham, East Sussex. A church family of all ages and backgrounds. Our aim is to know Jesus and to make Jesus known and so we make our priorities to teach the Bible, to pray together, to be church, loving and serving each other, encouraging one another to love, serve and worship God with the whole of our lives and to reach out with the good news of God's love to our community.

What we do

We serve the God who has spoken to us through Jesus and through his word, the Bible, so we put great emphasis on learning together from the Bible. It is God's contemporary, relevant and life changing message, in other words it is from God for us for today. We also have a number of housegroups meeting week by week to study the Bible and help each other to put it into practice.

This is true for all ages so we have groups every Sunday morning from creche upwards helping young people to discover Jesus through his word. There is also a regular evening slot for teenagers. There are opportunities to pray together as a church but we also encourage 'prayer triplets', meeting in threes and fours throughout Hailsham. There are also a number of activities covering all ages that reach out and welcome the wider community - Tiny Tots for Mums and Toddlers, BiteIn - the Friday cafe, Homemakers, more for our senior citizens as well as Brownie and Guide groups, and we offer a regular Christianity Explored for those who want to find out about Jesus.

Just Looking?

If you live in or around Hailsham then we'd be delighted to welcome you to any of our Sunday services or our midweek activities. If you're a Christian, we hope you will be able to learn, serve and grow at St. Mary's. If you're not a Christian then please do come along to find out more!

Christianity is all about Jesus - God who came to this earth as a man 2000 years ago, who lived a perfect, exemplary life. Jesus died on a Roman cross, he died to take the just punishment from God that wrong-doings, our sins deserve - his death restores a perfect relationship with God. Three days after he died, he rose from the dead! This guarantees us new life in Jesus which begins today, but is ultimately seen in Heaven. We're all about meeting Jesus and enjoying friendship with Him - we'd love for you to come and meet with Jesus as well...
